Neil Breslin on Health Care
Senator Breslin has long history of working to improve health care for working families. As chair of the Insurance Committee, he helped to reign in the ever-increasing costs of health care by requiring proposed rate increases to be reviewed before they go into effect. This was done to make sure that health insurance companies were not over charging their policyholders. He also made sure that more of every dollar that an individual pays for health insurance goes towards actual health care.
Senator Breslin successfully advocated for New York to set up a health insurance exchange as prescribed in the federal Affordable Care Act that will make shopping for health insurance simpler and more competitive.
Whether it is making more treatment options for families with an autistic child, allowing individuals who are receiving kidney dialysis greater access to treatments, or making more non-invasive chemotherapy treatment options available to patients, Senator Breslin has always fought for better quality health care and will continue his efforts because quality, affordable health care is something everybody should have access to.
